If y’all haven’t heard of the market before, let me just say, it’s huge. And I mean, huge HUGE. There are 200 buildings, and I made it to about 4 or 5!

Of the trends we spotted, here are the 5 we think are most likely to make it into Birmingham homes this year…

 

Interior Design Color of the Year

The color I saw in every showroom was GREEN! It was everywhere, and not always in small doses but also whole rooms. Expect more of this color to come!

    

Design Trend: Metals Mixed with Upholstery

We saw a lot of metal mixed with upholstery. I love how these details weren’t at all overdone. They’re charming, surprising, and classy all at once. Here are a couple of my favorites… 

Design Trend: Curvy in all the Right Places

Curves in furniture were all over the market, and I have to say, we’re seeing a revival of traditional design more and more these days. You know we love traditional design here in the South, so expect more good things to be coming our way. 😉

Design Trend: Neutrals, Make Way for Color

Green may have been the star of the show, but color in general is coming back in a big way. From chairs to ottomans, pillows to wallpaper, color was everywhere… and I couldn’t be happier!! Who doesn’t want a classy and sunny space?

 

I absolutely love where this phase of interior design is headed and especially can’t wait to start whipping up some of these elegant skirts in our workroom! 😉
